Appointment Guidelines
Welcome!
Your Appointment Journey at LVA Bride
This guide was created to help you feel confident and informed throughout your entire bridal journey with us - from your first appointment to the moment you walk down the aisle. We’ve included everything you need to know about how fittings work, how to place an order, production timing, and helpful tips to make this experience seamless and joyful. Please take a few moments to read through. Our team will also walk you through everything in person - but it’s always nice to feel prepared in advance.
Who to Bring to Your Appointment
We don’t recommend bringing more than 4-5 guests to your bridal appointment - not because we don’t want you to celebrate with your loved ones, but because too many opinions can often feel overwhelming.
However, if you plan to bring more than 4-5 guests, please let us know in advance. We can either move your appointment to our Big Fitting Room or arrange additional seating for your group.
Production Time
Dear brides, to ensure your dress is absolutely perfect, please allow 4-6 months for production. This timeline helps us deliver the dress of your dreams without stress or compromise.
If your wedding is sooner, we will do our best to meet your needs.
Rush production may apply, with an additional 10-20% fee for orders needed within 8-12 weeks.
Please note: this information may vary depending on the specific dress. Some gowns require special fabrics or custom lace that may take longer to arrive. Not all dresses are available for rush orders. We kindly ask you to confirm availability and production timing with your stylist.
How to Order Your Dress?
Once you've found the one, here's what happens next:
1. We take your measurements for the most accurate size selection.
2. We sign a contract.
If you're still exploring your options or haven't fully decided on your dream dress yet, we recommend browsing our collection before your appointment. You'll be able to see all of the gowns currently available to try on in our boutique, making your visit even more enjoyable and productive.
Preparing for Your First Appointment
To make the most of your first bridal appointment:
We kindly recommend avoiding heavy makeup. Our dresses are delicate, and we want to keep them pristine for you and future brides. We also kindly ask that you do not wear strong perfumes to your appointment. Fragrances can linger on the gowns and affect the experience for other brides.
Please wear light-colored or beige underwear, ideally seamless. Our dresses are always fitted without a bra, as this ensures the most accurate and natural silhouette. If needed, we offer nipple covers.
We provide beige shapewear shorts if your underwear is too bright or patterned. So please don’t worry - we’ll make sure you're fully comfortable and confident during your appointment!
We also have hair clips, high heels, and everything else you might need during your try-on. If you forget something - we’ve got you covered.
Size Verification
We select your size based on your measurements at the time of ordering. If you are planning any changes to your body, such as weight loss, weight gain, or surgery, please let your stylist know in advance.
Sometimes there’s still time to adjust the size or make small changes during production - and it’s much easier to do that before the dress is finished than after. So don’t hesitate to share any updates with us!
In some cases, your measurements may fall between multiple sizes. For example, your bust may align with a US size 10, while your waist is closer to a US size 6. When this happens, we will often recommend a custom size to ensure the best possible fit.
If custom sizing is not selected, we will always order the gown based on the larger measurement, for example, ordering a size 10 to fit the bust. However, please keep in mind that this may require more extensive alterations later, especially through the waist and hips, to achieve the perfect final shape.
Please note that custom sizing may require an additional fee, depending on the gown. Typically, this is around 10% of the dress price.
Most Milla Nova gowns come with a standard B cup. Depending on the style of the gown and your bust measurements, if your cup size is smaller or larger than a B cup, we may recommend ordering custom cups to ensure the best possible fit, comfort, and support.
Please note that custom cups usually require an additional fee of approximately $250.
Alterations
At LVA Bride, we offer in-house alterations to ensure your gown fits perfectly from start to finish.
Our experienced seamstress will guide you through the process and make all necessary adjustments for a flawless fit. Alterations are not included in the gown price and are quoted based on the work required.
Typically, you will need one to two fittings:
• First fitting: basic adjustments, such as length, bust, and waist
• Second fitting, if needed: final refinements
• Third fitting, if needed
If you prefer, we are also happy to recommend trusted local bridal seamstresses closer to your home.
Storage of Your Dress
Once your gown arrives at our boutique, we are happy to store it free of charge if you will be having your alterations with LVA Bride.
If you choose to have alterations elsewhere, we kindly ask that you pick up your gown within 30 days of being notified that it has arrived.
Second Dress Discount
Looking for a second dress for your rehearsal dinner, reception, or a fun mini look for later in the night? You’ll receive 20% off your second gown when purchased through LVA Bride. Let us help you feel amazing from the first step down the aisle to the final dance.
We can't wait to share this unforgettable journey with you.
With love,
