Alterations & Fittings
At LVA BRIDE, we believe the perfect gown is not only about design - it’s about how it fits you.
All alterations are completed by our in-house seamstress, who specializes in bridal gowns and works closely with each bride to achieve a flawless, custom fit.
With deep knowledge of gown construction, corsetry, and delicate fabrics, she understands how to refine each dress while preserving the original design.
When to Start Alterations
Bridal alterations typically begin 8-10 weeks before your wedding date.
If you purchased your gown at LVA BRIDE, our team will reach out to schedule your first fitting approximately 3 months before your wedding, ensuring enough time for a smooth and stress-free process.
How the Process Works
Alterations are done through a series of fittings, allowing your gown to be adjusted step by step.
Most brides will need around 3 appointments, depending on the complexity of the dress and your personal preferences.
Each fitting focuses on refining the fit, proportions, and overall look, ensuring everything feels just right.
What Alterations May Include
Every gown is different, but common alterations include:
- Hemming to the perfect length
- Corset and bodice adjustments
- Strap and sleeve modifications
- Bustle creation for your train
- Custom adjustments to enhance fit and comfort
More complex or custom design changes can also be done and are quoted separately.
Pricing
Alterations are charged separately and typically range from $500 to $1,500, depending on the gown and the work required.
Final pricing is determined after your first fitting, once the exact scope of work is defined.
Custom design changes are quoted individually.
What to Bring to Your Fittings
To ensure the most accurate fit, please bring:
- Your wedding shoes
- Any shapewear or undergarments you plan to wear
These details make a significant difference in achieving the final result.
