All alterations are completed in-house by our bridal seamstress, who specializes in wedding gowns, corsetry, delicate fabrics, and detailed gown construction. Every adjustment is done with care to preserve the original design while ensuring the gown fits flawlessly.
When to Start Alterations
Bridal alterations typically begin 8-10 weeks before the wedding day.
If you did not purchase your gown at LVA BRIDE, we would still be happy to welcome you for bridal alterations and fittings. Our in-house seamstress works with both LVA BRIDE gowns and dresses purchased from other bridal boutiques, ensuring every bride receives a flawless fit and personalized experience.
How the Process Works
Most brides will need around 3 fittings, depending on the gown and the alterations required.
The process may include:
- Hem adjustments
- Corset and bodice refinements
- Strap or sleeve modifications
- Bustle creation for the train
- Fit and comfort adjustments
Each fitting allows the gown to be tailored step by step until every detail feels just right.
What to Bring to Your Fitting
For the most accurate fit, we recommend bringing:
- Your wedding shoes
- Shapewear or undergarments you plan to wear on the wedding day
These details help ensure the final silhouette and proportions are perfect.
Alteration Pricing
Alterations are charged separately and typically range from $500 to $1,500 depending on the gown and the complexity of the work.
Custom design changes and more detailed modifications are quoted individually after the first fitting.
